Cedar Creek Lodge is For Sale. This restored farmhouse sets on over 90 acres of waterfront property, sleeps twelve comfortably and comes fully furnished!
Cedar Creek Lodge is an incredibly cool restored farmhouse for sale in Hyde County NC. It is currently used as private hunting and fishing lodge but could easily be used as a permanent residence. It is located in the community of Middleton, just a few miles outside of Engelhard NC and less than an hour from the Outer Banks. Homes of this vintage in this good of shape are rare in Hyde County, especially on 90 plus waterfront acres. The majority of the acreage is coastal wet woods and salt marsh. It has water frontage on Cedar Creek, the Pamlico Sound and Middleton Creek.
The lodge is currently set up to sleep 12 comfortably and additional beds could be accommodated. There are three full bathrooms, two downstairs, one of which contains the laundry area, and one on the second floor. Two additional rooms on the third floor could easily be used as bunk rooms or gear storage. The house has a tremendous amount of character. You’ll love the original hardwood flooring, which is throughout much of the home. The foyer, kitchen and the downstairs bathroom/laundry room has ceramic tile. All the doors seem to be originals throughout. Large stone fireplaces are found in the living area downstairs, the downstairs bedroom and both bedrooms on the second floor. The lodge comes furnished including some beautiful heirloom pieces. The ceilings downstairs are 10 feet high. The formal dining room can be closed off from the living area buy two large pocket doors. Currently, there is table seating for twelve but both the kitchen and dining room are spacious enough to accommodate much larger tables.
The enclosed back porch is great for gear storage and securely storing all your outdoor cooking items like gas grills and smokers when not in use. It has two freezers and a stainless steel sink and plenty of shelving and boot racks to take care of all of your dry storage needs. The outside back porch overlooks the large expense of land between the house and the sound. It is the perfect setting for cookouts and oyster roasts at the end of a long duck hunting day or when returning from some epic inshore fishing that the area is known for. You’ll have the ability to tie your duck boat up along the side of the marsh just down from the lodge in a protected creek so you won’t have to be worried about getting to the boat ramp first!
There’s a large circular concrete driveway in front of the house with additional parking on either side of the house. You’ll be able to store your boat under the aluminum shelter on the north side of the house to keep it out of the weather when not in use. There’s a really neat old barn 150 feet from the back porch that has power and water, plenty of dry storage and the perfect spot for preparing the day’s harvest for the dinner table. This unique offering is shown by appointment only.
